We thought that we would make contact with the owners to see if they would allow us to arrange a fan club visit one afternoon in the summer of 2003. Home Farm was used as Hexwood in the first series, and the barn where Carrot meets Catweazle for the first time.
Carol, struck up a friendship with the owners and they were good enough to invite 50 members to the village fete which happened to be held at the farm in June. Included in the fee for pitching there would be an opportunity to view the famous barn and various other location areas. It was more than we had hoped for and it turned out to be a wonderful afternoon. The visit was a great success and we were asked back again. Since then, the club has remained friends with Bug and Neil and we have returned year after year. Each year proving a bigger success than the year before. During these times we have welcomed a German film crew to the event, and also have had the tremendous pleasure of having the company of several of the stars of the series spending the afternoon with us.
